Sometimes I think we’re lucky to witness such a ‘comfortable’ time in fashion – a time, in which comfort doesn’t rule out fashion, but rather the other way around. A time which allows snickers with a dress or a skirt or heels worn with jogging pants.
The fine line between sportswear and the everyday wardrobe is long gone, and leading fashion brands invest in whole collections or workout shoes, while sports brands come out with collections fit for casual style. The sporty look tells the world – I care about myself! And good for you – because taking care of YOU is trendier than ever.
So, when I was invited a couple of days ago to a launch of Stella McCartney’s new collection for Adidas, I was looking, among other things, for clothes to wear regularly. In the Tel Aviv port store of Adidas, the wonderful Lea Shnirer was waiting for the guests with a Pilates class. And, of course, there was the new collection by Stella, as the fashionistas lovingly call her.
It was a relatively small event with fun and intimate atmosphere (produced nicely by Liat Moliov). Lea’s class was pretty challenging, even for the sports lovers among us, and Stella’s collection was refreshing. I didn’t find anything groundbreaking, but I had to refresh my wardrobe with a new purchase – perforated workout shoes, which change color with every different sock underneath.
I also added a cropped, long sleeved wide shirt with Lycra inserts, which was already worn with jeans and accepted many compliments.
It looks cool and current, and may not look like that on the hanger but I’ll make sure to incorporate it into a look and write about it soon.
Anyway, girls, care about YOU! And if you haven’t seen the new collection, now is a good time to catch up and hit ‘refresh’.
