I don’t know what about you, but I’m loving the first days of the new year. I spent the holidays by the beach – and enjoyed every second! The gentle and subtle sun, the see-through clear water, the quiet and cleanliness – this is how our fall looks like, and I like it a lot.
Despite that, I must admit that when I hear ‘fall’ I think not of the beach, but of golden foliage, romantic and crisp like in the films and in my childhood. This was my first association when I saw this jumpsuit, with the colorful foliage print. The ‘nature’ print trend is everywhere these days – on all the current collections, on accessories. Flowers blossom on Gucci bags, on Prada bag straps as seen here, on Dolce&Gabanna sunglasses and in the newest Miu Miu collection.
There’s something very feminine about this flower print, and I find it very appealing. You can claim that flowers are trendy all year long, but flowers on dark background are especially current, and create a dark, romantic fall effect. When I saw this piece, I could almost hear the noise of fall leaves under my feet, and, as childhood memories floated around me, I just had to buy it. I combined it with more flowers, this on time on these gentle ivory sandals, which correspond with one of the print’s colors. And the result – one of my most feminist and delicate looks ever.
And if we mention fall – it means taking a light jacket in case of a cool wind, or a day turning into an evening. This distressed denim jacket balances the jumpsuit’s femininity and gentleness, and the additional accessories – a suede fringe bag and slightly futuristic sunglasses – also balance the romance and add a cool factor. Pulled back hair, in order not to conceal the intricate back, and I’m ready!
There’s only one problem – it’s kind of hard to take it off when needed :) But let these be our biggest problems in life!
Yours,
LJ
