Have you ever thought how the world would have looked if no one invented jeans? While it’s not exactly a technological innovation like a plane or TV, there’s no doubt that this 1837 invention also changed the face of humanity.
There’s no clothing item more useful and comfortable for every moment in life. In each and every one of our closets there’s a good amount of pairs of every shape and color – bright, dark, distressed, washed, tight and wide. Of all those wardrobe ‘building blocks’, it’s important to have at least one special pair that can be at the center stage of a look.
Interesting patches, in good balance, can make a pair of jeans pretty special. If you’re DIY-inclined and built for it, you can try to do it by yourself to achieve a one-of-a-kind result. Since I’m not so big on sewing, I prefer buying the finished product, but finding the right pair is not an easy task.
When I saw this fun pair, I knew right away I must have it. The faces simply called me! Besides, I was happy to add a ‘boyfriend’ cut to my collection. First of all, they add a cool factor and make you look skinnier. Besides, I read an Australian research recently, according to which wearing tight jeans can be unhealthy due to ‘surrounding pressure on the leg that causes severe damage to blood vessels, muscles and nerves’.
The slightly mannish cut (they’re called boyfriends for a reason) must be balanced with a feminine top, and the colorful dominance – with white. I chose a sensual white spaghetti-straps tank, with touches of lace. For a sexier, deliberately ‘slouchy’ look, tuck it in, but only partially. The look could use more color, so I threw in this yellow mood-brightening bag. Neutral high heel sandals completed the style, which was perfect for a stroll around Neve Tzedek and for a cup of coffee at a local coffee shop.
Have a pleasant stroll! Maybe you’ll get inspired just like I did, and you’ll write something, too:-)
