In the nail salon I visited this morning for this photo shoot manicure, in a chair next to me, sat a beautiful young woman. When she asked why I’m doing this special color combo, I told her it’s my way to express support for USA’s Supreme Court decision to acknowledge same sex marriage in all 50 states. She answered, surprised: “But why? It’s a disease you have to treat, not support”. I choked. I was shocked and appalled.
It’s unthinkable to me that this kind of thoughts exists among the young generation here – this woman wasn’t from my grandma’s or ever my parents’ generation, who were born into prejudice. This was someone younger than me. On the other hand, these exact opinions prove how important this decision is, and how meaningful the support it got all across the Internet is. Pride colors are everywhere, and that’s a good thing.
I want to use this opportunity to congratulate my close and beloved friends Eran Binderman and Ofer Allison, who maintain a beautiful partnership of 10 years and raise their wonderful, happy child Matan. My Pride photo shoot is dedicated to them, and to the whole community.
I’m proud of my friends!
I wish us all freedom, always!
