At Factory 54 fashion show
Not an opera and not a musical, but a fashion show by the high-end retailer Factory 54 – that’s what led me to the Israeli Opera this week. It was a show inspired by the location – an orchestra on stage like at a philharmonic concert, set design worthy of a musical, and clothes that would easily fit in any opera show. The fact it was a fashion was only highlighted by male and female models who walked the runway to moving, beautiful music
Strong colors reign
The best part, however, was the ending, when men in tuxedos (which reminded me of Monaco) and women in black evening gowns stood on both sides of the runway, between the oranges and the sunflowers, and upon the stage descended Bar Raphaeli in a white dress (practicing for her upcoming wedding no doubt). Every model was holding what looked like a table tennis racket, on object the usage of which was unclear to the very end. Then, in one emotional moment, as they turned it together, it became clear the racked read: vote
So go vote! It’s important for us and for our country
